M&L Woven Vinyl Tiles are installed using traditional tile installation techniques. 1. Usually installations begin from the centre of the room. Installing in a narrow hallway or passage it is easier to work the lengthwise from one end, utilize centre line as a guide. 2. The centre line is drawn as follows: a chalk line is snapped from the middle between two of the walls. The other centre of line is then drawn through this line. Use the 3:4:5 method to establish the line perpendicular to the first line. 3. Begin laying tile at the centre point, ensuring that the tile is laid exactly along the chalk lines. Work outward from the first tile in a pyramid fashion, until the first quarter is finished. Make sure that tiles do not run off guidelines. Make sure that each tile is firmly butted to the tile laid. Then make the first quarter of the floor. If the first few tiles are not installed correctly, it will affect the entire installation. Do not spread adhesive in an area larger than the tiles can be installed while the adhesive is in right condition 4. Since it takes time to scribe and cut the border tiles, it is advisable to spread adhesive first only where the full tiles will be laid. When the field is complete, scribe and cut the border tiles before the adhesive is spread. When fitting is complete, adhesive can be spread in the border area and border pieces can be installed. 5. Roll the surface after installation in both length- and cross directions with a minimum 75 kg (150 pounds) roller. 6. Releasable adhesive can be used if ease of removal is required. In some cases, the Tiles can also be installed loose laid following the above procedure.
CLEANING AFTER CONSTRUCTION Installation of the tiles should, as far as possible, be carried out when other stages have been completed. If not, cover the tiles with plastic or board. Use dry methods to begin with, avoid sweeping the ties, and preferably use a vacuum cleaner to remove any loose waste matter, dirt and dust. Finish the cleaning using a scrubber-dryer machine with warm water, if necessary with a minimum dose of a ph-neutral cleaning agent. Please note do not use heavy commercial cleaning machine cleaning the tiles, it will terror the woven vinyl surface of the tile.
IMPORTANT The tiles must be inspected before installation. Do not install tiles with visible defects! Any defects shall be reported to the place of purchase as soon as possible.
